Mosquito factor: 100 % = clean; 85 % = 15 % less gliding power in the model. Ballast shifts the reference velocity by √(mass/reference mass), but does not improve the best glide ratio. The catalog polar provides reference values for this simplified model. Check the centre of gravity, actual polars, circular flight and operational limits separately.
All starting values are editable planning assumptions.
Wind, thermals, altitude & safety reserve
Net gradients are the rate of climb actually achieved in round flight. No automatic MacCready optimum without measured polars. Height always AMSL; GPS height is uncalibrated. The thermal model assumes uniform beards.

Q-circles are geographical selection areas and not actual restricted area boundaries. Check validity windows, times of day, follow-up messages and original text. Missing notifications do not mean release.
Everything for the preparation.
Examine export tasks before use in the target device and appropriately set turning point sectors.

Taking over task from the device
Open CUP tasks from LXNAV or SeeYou, XCSoar TSK and GPX routes locally. For several tasks, select the appropriate one.
The planned route will be maintained until the takeover.
Order and coordinates are taken over. Score sectors, AAT areas and start rules are not applied in the planner.
Prepare for your cockpit
Guidance from the provider ↗CUP and TSK use 1-km cylinders. Reconcile sectors and device declaration in the target device.
Experience your flight again
IGC files from LXNAV / Nano, SeeYou, XCSoar and other loggers: flight track, barogram and time playback on the map.
The file is evaluated exclusively in your browser.
Representation on large files simplified; the statistics uses all valid positions.
Recorded distance and log time span, no competition scoring or confirmed flight time. IGC signature not checked. Your planned route will be preserved.
Prepare files here and open them in the desired service. You manage the account and synchronization with the respective provider.
Tasks and flight files remain in the browser. When displaying the card, card tiles are loaded by the card provider.
Data sources, calculation & limitations of the planner
This is how the proposals are produced
Geometric candidates in many directions, real airfields and explicitly designated coordinate turning points. Ball distances, wind triangle, loss of glide altitude and re-elevation with your net gradient determine the approximate time requirement. „Long route searches the limited candidate set up to twice the desired value in the entered time window; a global optimum is not guaranteed.
Weather assessment takes into account model values on random samples. Missing or old data will not receive a positive weather bonus. The map levels show weather values at the loaded route and grid points. A common UTC time is selectable; alternatively, route points appear at their transit time. No weather is invented between points. Thermal indications show only surface factors and an LCL approximation; no winding locations or rates of rise. Visual Crossing also offers ground weather, no proven glider thermal forecast. Cloud base of temperature and dew point is only an approximation above ground; it does not replace a thermal forecast. FAI shares describe the leg lengths alone, not complete competition recognition.
