Overview
Aero Club Pavullo is a flight school and aviation association based at the civil airfield Pavullo nel Frignano Airport (ICAO: LIDP) in the Emilia-Romagna region, Italy. The club operates a comprehensive flight school there and offers a wide range of training opportunities – from ultralight to ultralight. Leisure flying through gliding to the classic private pilot licence (PPL/LAPL).
The Aero Club Pavullo operates the course year-round under license from the ENAC Aviation Authority – that is, flight operations, flight training, infrastructure, safety and services are officially regulated and administered regularly.
Offer of training
The school offers various types of pilot training:
- VDS/Ultralight flight (Recreational/Sport Flying)
- Gliding (Sailplane/Glider School)
- PPL (Private Pilot Licence) and LAPL (Light Aircraft Pilot Licence) – for motorized light aircraft
- If necessary, drone courses (for pilots of drones) as well as trial and discovery flights during powered flight.
Requirements
Depending on the training, different conditions apply:
- For Ultralight (VDS): Minimum age 16 years, presentation of a medical fitness certificate (sports/leisure flying), official ID and fiscal identification number.
- For gliding instruction: also at least 16 years of age, medical fitness (first or second class), student pilot registration, valid ID, tax/tax. Tax code.
- For PPL, i.e. LAPL: Participation in theoretical instruction (100 hours in total) and practical flight instruction (30 – 45 hours depending on the licence). The examination is carried out by ENAC; theory and practice must be completed within a defined period.
Costs
The cost depends on the chosen course. Prices are shown for certain offers; others are calculated individually.

Included in the price are usually course registration, club membership for the first year, teaching materials, theoretical lessons, administration and airport services. For courses with a fixed hour, certain minimum flights are included; additional hours are charged separately.
Remarks
The Aero Club Pavullo has a modern fleet of various training and touring aircraft, including ultralight models (e.g., the Aero Club Pavullo). B. Pipistrel, ICP Savannah) and motorized aircraft such as the Robin DR400, which is also used for towing sailplanes.
Gliding training has grown historically: Pavullo Square is one of the most traditional gliding centres in Italy and combines training with sporting aviation, including route and competition flights.
