Aérodrome de Serres – La Bâtie

Aérodrome de Serres – La Bâtie: Discover the ideal gliding ground in the Alps, learn more about infrastructure for impressive flights.

Introduction

The flight school FlySerres offers paragliding and gliding or free flight options at the airfield Aérodrome de Serres-La Bâtie in the southern French mountains. It is aimed at flight enthusiasts who either want to get to know free flying or develop their practical skills and experience in mountain and wave flight. FlySerres is less to be understood as a classical school in the sense of a license training, but rather as a provider of flight experiences, test flights and guided tours for paragliders and glider pilots.

Offer of training & Benefits

FlySerres offers a variety of flights, including mountain tours and wave flights (Vol d’onde) – flights where local mountain and weather conditions are deliberately used to facilitate longer or spectacular flights.
In addition, there is infrastructure for accommodation and food on the airfield, as well as leisure and accompanying services, so that a stay can be combined with flight and holiday experience.

Important: FlySerres is primarily a leisure and flight offer, not a formal pilot training (e.g.) B. for a license. Interested parties should therefore ensure that they already have the necessary knowledge and, if necessary, Bring licensing requirements before attending.

Costs

On the FlySerres website, there is a price list — as of 2023 — for the flights and services offered. Fees are charged for the different types of flight, depending on the duration, type of flight and, where applicable, additional services such as overnight stays or leisure activities. Since the actual prices can vary depending on the season, type of flight and individual services, it is advisable to ask FlySerres for the valid price list before booking.

Requirements

According to FlySerres, it requires a good knowledge of aviation – especially if mountain or wave flights are planned. It is not a school that starts with zero (i.e., e.g., ). B. without previous experience), but rather an offer for experienced pilots or very ambitious leisure pilots.

Participants should therefore bring appropriate equipment and, where applicable, a valid paragliding or gliding licence or rating. More detailed information on minimum requirements and security briefings can be obtained from FlySerres.

Notes

Since FlySerres is not a classic training center for pilot licenses, interested parties should clearly define the purpose of their visit: Those who want a formal flight license will probably not find it at FlySerres. For experienced sports or leisure pilots, on the other hand, the offer of mountain and wave flights can be very attractive – especially with the combination of flight, nature and holiday ambience. It is advisable to contact in advance in order to clarify availability, weather conditions, individual requirements and final price.
