Information about the German Alpine gliding School Unterwössen e.V. (DASSU)
The German Alpine gliding School Unterwössen e. V. (DASSU) in Bavarian Unterwössen offers impressive training and experience opportunities in gliding, motor gliding and ultralight flying – in the middle of the Chiemgau Alps. On Pilotenausbildung1.de we give you a neutral overview of the offer, the requirements, all-round costs and frequently asked questions. Please make sure that we do not carry out any training ourselves, but only inform.
Offer of training
DASSU is aimed at beginners and experienced pilots alike: gliding training runs from the first instruction flight to aerobatic flight to route and Alpine overflights. In addition, motor gliding and ultralight flight programs are offered as well as trial days for those interested. If you are looking for high-altitude air, you can take part in cross-country courses in the Alps – the landscape and flight conditions are among the most attractive in Germany.
Requirements
For training at DASSU, different requirements apply depending on the objective. Beginners in the gliding area can start from about 14 years old, the license is typically issued at 16 or older. An aero-medical medical examination is required, German and English skills are recommended. For routes or Alpine flights should also be routine – e.g. in dealing with thermals and longer flight times.
Costs
The costs are composed of theory lessons, flight practice, equipment use, examinations and if necessary. Accommodation/food – since DASSU is stationed in the Alps, typical holiday and accommodation costs are added. The school emphasizes that the calculation takes place individually – especially in the various training paths (gliding, power gliding, UL, route flight).
