About the flight school

The LOT Flight Academy (LFA), based in Warsaw/Poland, is a modern flight school with direct reference to the national airline LOT Polish Airlines. It acts as an Approved Training Organization (ATO) within the framework of the European EASA regulation and offers prospective pilots training from private pilot license to the so-called Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

The training centre has theoretical training rooms in the Warsaw region as well as a practical training base at an airport location with a modern aircraft and simulator fleet. Instructors are, among other things, active line pilots, so that practical proximity is written in capital letter. For those interested in Germany, the school offers an attractive alternative to training places within Germany – especially if an internationally oriented pilot training is desired. On this page we inform about the relevant aspects for German interested parties.

Offer of training

The training portfolio of the LOT Flight Academy ranges from entry with the private pilot license (PPL (A)) over night flight ratings (VFR Night) and instrument and multi-engine training to integrated 0-ATPL training (“from zero to ATPL (A)”) incl. Multi-Crew Coordination (MCC) and Jet Orientation Course (JOC).The training can be modular or integrated model. In view of a possible entry into an airline career, the 0-ATPL option is particularly interesting, which includes all required license and rating modules. Both theoretical and practical training is provided, including an hour-building program (e.g. 110 flight hours.

Some minimum entry requirements for training at the LOT Flight Academy are: minimum age 18 years, minimum school qualification (secondary level), a valid airworthiness certificate class 1 and good knowledge of English. In addition, for applicants outside the EU, the approval of the Polish Aviation Authority is required. Further requirements can be made depending on the module (e.g. Minimum flight hours, multilingualism vary, especially for advanced type-rating or instructor training.

For German interested parties, it is particularly important to find out about recognition and possibly German license conversion, as the training takes place in Poland.
