Centre de Vol à Voile de Puimoisson (Puimoisson) — overview
The Puimoisson airfield is idyllic in the south of France (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) and is operated by the Centre de Vol à Voile de Puimoisson (CVVP). It is located about 3.5 km east of Puimoisson and at about 750 m above sea level.
The course has two slopes (east-west and north-south), which allows take-offs and landings in different wind conditions – even in strong winds such as the Mistral.
The main activity on Puimoisson is gliding. The aerodrome is suitable for both en route flights on plain and in mountainous terrain – an attractive environment for ambitious gliders.
Offer of training & Benefits
Although Puimoisson is primarily operated as a gliding airfield, it offers an extensive program in the glider sector – ideal for flight enthusiasts and those who want to fly intensively. Regular briefings with weather, flight and safety advice (in French and English) ensure a safe and well-organized operation.
The infrastructure not only enables flight operations, but also on-site accommodation: there are chalets and camping facilities right at the site – convenient for those planning a week of flight or a longer stay.
Requirements for participants
Every guest, whether pilot, student pilot or passenger, must register in the CVVP’s booking portal, agree to the self-briefing and place rules and upload their identity documents. Only after this registration is the stay at the airfield, campsite or chalet as well as participation in flight operations allowed.
In addition, aircraft must be registered unmasked in the portal for flight operations (e.g. via FLARM/OGN). The flight operations are without a flight manager, radio traffic exclusively in English or French — German is not allowed.
Costs & Fees
Puimoisson publishes a price list for the use of the airfield and the offers around accommodation and camping. For the first visit, there is a special arrangement: Between 1. March and 31 A 50% discount on accommodation and camping applies in May.
Concrete prices for towing flights, flying hours or training are not clearly publicly declared as ‘pilot training costs’ – since the focus is on club/flight operations and gliding. According to the operator organization Puiplaneur, association membership and towage fees are shown separately.
