Overview
Gliding School in the Alpine Region
The gliding group Bad Ragaz offers those interested in flying a profound training in gliding – embedded in the impressive backdrop of the Swiss Alps. Organized as an association, the focus is not on the commercial idea, but on the joy of gliding, learning together and promoting young and experienced pilots. The flight school has modern double-seater training aircraft and combines structure, safety and club life into a holistic training environment.
Offer of training
Initial gliding training
The basic training provides everything that prospective pilots need for a safe entry into the world of gliding. Training is given on double-seater training aircraft, with the flight instructor sitting behind the student and accompanying all learning phases – from the first take-off to the long-awaited solo flight. In addition to practical flights, theoretical content such as navigation, aerodynamics, meteorology and air law are part of the training.
Further training opportunities
Already licensed pilots can deepen their flying skills through further training. This includes, for example, line flight training, thermal training or individual refresher flights. The offer is aimed at both re-entrants and ambitious pilots who want to expand their competencies.
Requirements
What Aspiring Pilots Should Bring
In order to begin gliding training, interested parties need a medical certificate of fitness as well as sufficient motivation for theory and practice. Since a large part of the theory lessons take place in self-study, a willingness to learn and a certain self-responsibility are helpful. The practical completion of gliding instruction shall be subject to minimum requirements such as solo flight time, en route performance and a sufficient number of flight hours.
Costs
Price overview
The gliding group Bad Ragaz does not provide any specific information on the training costs on its website. Interested parties receive accurate information directly on request at the flight school.
Also for trial flights or passenger flights, no fixed prices are publicly indicated, so an individual consultation is necessary.
