About Sky Helí

SKY HELI GmbH is an established flight school for helicopter pilots based in Berlin and Brandenburg. For more than a decade, the company has been training aspiring helicopter pilots at various licensing levels, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical flight skills in the helicopter. In addition to training, SKY HELI also offers services related to helicopter flights, such as scenic flights, adventure flights and special flights. The flight school attaches importance to individual support and flexible scheduling in order to meet the different needs of the flight students.

Offer of training

The flight school offers a wide range of training programs for helicopter pilots. This includes private pilot training (PPL(H)), commercial pilot training (CPL(H)), commercial pilot training (ATPL(H)) and instructor training (FI(H)). The PPL(H) licence enables non-commercial exercise as pilot-in-command or co-pilot, while CPL(H) and ATPL(H) allow entry into a professional pilot career. In addition, the offer includes training as a flight instructor, which gives experienced pilots the opportunity to act as instructors themselves.

Training overview and content

Theoretical training is typically provided by certified distance learning courses with supplementary close-up teaching, covering subjects such as aviation law, navigation, flight performance, meteorology and radiotelephony. The practical part of the training shall include a minimum number of flight hours on helicopters, as prescribed by the legislature, which must be completed both with an instructor and as solo flights. The programmes are flexible and adapted to the time opportunities of the participants.

Pilot training requirements

Different prerequisite criteria apply to the different training programmes: PPL(H) training shall normally require a minimum age of 16 years at the start of training and 17 years at the time of licence, an AME class 2 medical certificate and a certificate of first aid knowledge. Professional licensing levels such as CPL(H) or FI(H) usually require higher age requirements, a class 1 medical certificate and other previous aviation experience. In addition, reliability checks and proof of identity are required at the start of training.

Costs of training

The specific training costs are calculated individually at SKY HELI on request and are dependent on the desired license level and personal prior knowledge. In general, the price depends on the chosen form of training (modular or continuous) and the amount of practical flight hours. For helicopter pilot training, non-binding and cost-neutral bid invoices are prepared, as the duration of training and the effort can vary greatly.
