About the flight school
Location and philosophy
ZONDA.aero flight school is based in Poland and operates at Bydgoszcz International Airport (EPBY) and Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (EPGD). The school offers a modern pilot-oriented training under the European Aviation Regulations (EASA), with the aim of covering both the theoretical and practical requirements for aspiring commercial pilots. On its website, the flight school describes a clear focus on high-quality training, flexible modules and technically well-equipped training environments.
Training culture and environment
The environment in Poland offers flight students advantages through comparatively cheaper costs compared to many other countries, coupled with realistic application possibilities in training operations. Users report a committed instructor culture, but at the same time there are indications that organization and process are evaluated differently depending on the module. The training fleet and infrastructure enable a training environment that can cater to both beginners and experienced pilots – from private pilot (PPL) to airline training path (ATPL).
Offer of training
Licensing and qualification courses
The flight school offers various license levels and qualifications. These include, inter alia:
– A private pilot license (PPL(A)) as an entry into motorized aviation.
- A commercial pilot license (CPL(A)) for alignment with the commercial pilot path.
– A modular or integrative route to the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(A)).
Specializations such as multi-motor qualification (MEP(L)), instrumental qualification (IR/ME) and distance learning modules for theory preparation.
Structure and specificities
The modules are structured in such a way that entry is already possible with a basic license and can be successively built on higher-quality qualifications. In addition, distance learning is offered for theoretical content, which creates flexibility for international students. For the ATPL path, the school points to a competitive price as well as a modular design – both for student pilots with 0 flight hours and those with previous experience.
Table: Training offers and costs
| Training | Description | Costs (approximately) |
|---|---|---|
| PPL(A) – Private Pilot Licence | Basic licence for private motorised aircraft (minimum 45 hours of flight time) | Individual – Price on request |
| MEP(L) – Multi-engine qualification | Theory + flight hours for multi-engine aircraft | Individual – price according to module specification |
| IR/ME – Instrument and Multi-Motor Certification | For PPL holders: extension to IR/ME, or for CPL holders | Individual – Price on request |
| ATPL(A) Modular/Integrative (0→ATPL) | Commercial pilot license incl. Theory and practical training |

Pricing structure and budget planning
The prices at ZONDA.aero already give indications of the magnitude with which interested parties have to deal. For the complete ATPL path, prices are quoted in the range of around **52,590 €** (Location Bydgoszcz) or **57,710 €** (Location Gdańsk). For entry-level licenses such as the PPL(A), no specific amount is publicly indicated, instead individual offers are referred to. Those interested in training should therefore plan a budget at an early stage which, in addition to pure training fees, also includes additional costs for accommodation, living standards, examination fees, aviation medicine and, where appropriate, travel.
In addition, the demand for extras such as simulator hours, language support or international enrollments is worthwhile – these can influence the overall budget.
Conditions for training
Essential requirements
Depending on the training module, the flight school requires certain entry requirements:
– For entry into PPL(A): Minimum age, airworthiness (medical certificate) and adequate English language skills. Details can be found at the provider.
– For the transition to CPL(A) or ATPL: e.g. the ATPL theory course must be successfully completed.
– For special qualifications such as IR/ME: for example, PPL(A) with valid MEP(L) or CPL(A) as a starting point.
International students and special features
Since the training centre is located in Poland, special conditions apply to international participants – such as stay, accommodation and transport. Linguistically, the courses are often offered in English, so a solid knowledge of English is an advantage.
In addition, early planning is recommended with regard to visa/residence rights (if necessary), accommodation and additional living costs, as these factors affect the overall experience.
