YOUR PATH TO THE COCKPIT

ASK 23

GFRP sailplane with good-natured flight characteristics, simple technique and ideal for retraining, thermal and first en route flights

ASK 23 – The proven classic of gliding training

The ASK 23 is a single-seater sailplane designed to connect training and performance glider pilots. It was developed by Alexander Schleicher and is aimed primarily at pilots after their first solo flight as well as advanced club pilots.

Structurally, the ASK 23 is made entirely of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic (GRP), which makes it lightweight, robust and low-maintenance. The design is deliberately kept simple: a fixed chassis, uncomplicated technology and a clear cockpit ensure high reliability and easy handling in daily flight operations.

Flying, the ASK 23 is characterized by very harmonious and good-natured characteristics. It responds directly but not critically to control input and gives the pilot an honest sense of speed, thermals and attitude. Their glide performance is above the classic training glider pilots, but remains manageable, which continues to focus on clean cranking and predictive flying.

Typically, the ASK 23 is used for retraining, learning route flight basics and relaxed thermal flying in the club. It is considered the ideal aircraft to build safety and experience before switching to more powerful gliders. The ASK 23 thus stands for reliability, simplicity and a balanced entry into single-seat gliding.
