CPL(H) – Commercial Pilot Licence Helicopter

The CPL(H) – Commercial Pilot Licence for helicopters is the commercial pilot license for helicopter pilots. It entitles you to fly helicopters for remuneration, i.e. to become a professional – for example in air rescue, offshore transport, surveying, sightseeing operations or other commercial areas of application.

Those who hold a CPL (H) license can work as both responsible pilot and co-pilot in companies that operate commercial flights. The license thus represents the transition from hobby flying to professional flying. In addition, the path to CPL(H) requires comprehensive theoretical training, intensive flight training and mastery of complex procedures and safety standards.

Graduates therefore have in-depth knowledge of navigation, meteorology, flight performance and aviation law. The licence can also serve as a prerequisite for further qualifications, such as instrument ratings or specialised operations in demanding environments.

This opens up a wide range of career paths within the aviation industry.
