Overview and location

Luftsportverein Füssen e.V. operates the gliding airfield Segelfluggelände Füssen – an airfield for sailplanes, power sailplanes and ultralight aircraft. The airfield is located north of the city of Füssen, between the Forggensee and the motorway A7 or near the federal road B 310. The runway is a 515 metre long grass runway with the orientation 08/26.

Offer of training

The association offers interested people the opportunity to learn gliding – both in a double-seater with flight instructor and with further training up to independent flights. In addition, there is also motor gliding and ultralight flight operations on the pitch, which is a good basis for different flight interests. The training is carried out within the club and community framework – flown often on weekends and in the summer season, ideally in good weather conditions.

Costs and conditions

The club emphasizes that gliding can also be affordable for newcomers – prejudices about high costs are explicitly relativized by the club. Participation requires interest, enjoyment of flying and a certain amount of time – especially since the club construct requires an active contribution from members (start, ground staff, community, etc.).
