CASE SPRING / KNOWLEDGE FOR YOUR ENTRY

What you need for the start.

Age, health, documentation, weight and time for parachuting training.

Age: Differentiating Germany and abroad

For training on non-motor-driven air sports equipment, a minimum age of 14 years applies in Germany; the permit is basically 16 years. In the case of minors, the necessary consents are required. A school may set additional age limits for its offer.

Abroad and at tandem jump other borders may apply. Check the conditions of the specific operator, instead of transferring German training rules to all offers.

Clarify health and resilience

Discuss existing illnesses, injuries, medications and other relevant restrictions before registering with the jump school and, if applicable, a doctor. Ask what proof of fitness is required for your training. The requirements of a training course and a tandem offer may vary.

Weight and fit are individual

There is no weight indication suitable for all schools worldwide. System boundaries, available equipment, body measurements and the specific program play a role. Give the school your actual data and have it confirmed.

Documents and organisation

  • Prove identity and age; provide necessary consent for minors.
  • Registration documents and required medical certificate to clarify in time.
  • Coordinate the necessary insurance and other evidence of formal qualifications with the school.
  • Understand the language of instruction safely and schedule time for ground school, jumps and debriefings.
  • Weather reserve and regular follow-up dates.
